Pain Relief Tools
Bongers - These ancient chinese tools are relaxing, without being mind altering, at least not in the way normally associated with the name! I bong myself and friends anywhere - cars, airport, studio, even choir practice, and carry one in my purse and car. Fastest self-help fix I know for relieving neck and shoulder tension (please avoid direct contact with the spine) I highly recommend these and give them often as gifts!
Back Knobber - This is my other go-to tool when neck, shoulder and back tension are slowing me down. It is a trigger point tool - meaning you find a painful spot on the back or shoulder or neck - and press gently, controlling the pressure from the front loop of the "s". I like this version as it comes apart for simple stashing in a purse or carry-on. I don't leave home without it!
Foot Roller - There is a reason all the major organs have a corresponding reflex point in the foot - a lot happens down there! This wooden roller is super simple to use and provides instant relief for aching, tired feet. I keep one under my desk and use it every night before bed - usually while brushing my teeth.
Body Back Roller - Sorry about no thumbnail picture here; working to fix that. Meanwhile, this is the other tool that travels wherever I do. Another wood rolling tool, this one is for your back. The concept is simple and based on shiatsu/trigger point principles. You lie on the roller, with your spine lined up in the center, rest for 30 seconds, and then move it a few inches and rest again. Gravity and body weight do the work. Sometimes I just lie on the floor with it under the base of my skull (at the occipitals for those of you who like proper names) and take a quick nap. No kidding!
